         <description><![CDATA[<div>For me, a leader who can be considered competent is when he is reliable and knowledgeable about anything that has to do with his people's needs for leadership, in a way, he can provide ideas and solutions to improve the people's way of living or situation. A leader is also competent if he sincerely cares about his people because if a leader genuinely cared about his people, he would seek ways and lend a helping hand to improve any difficult situation and attain a certain betterment that can be beneficial for his people. Lastly, a leader is considered competent when he is often open to studying new knowledge and ideas to improve his leadership. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A competent leader is always several steps ahead of every issue the people face. They do not slack off, party, and do absolutely nothing. A competent leader with put the lives of the people first before their own. A competent leader is always open for freedom of speech, listening to whatever the people say they think is the right thing to do. A competent leader can provide for everyone. A leader must be accountable for their actions, not being a coward hiding. A competent leader should be void of corrupted mindsets and bad behavior, thus a leader must have prior knowledge of what they are getting themselves into, not just to look big to others and show off their pride, they should have genuine compassion about their fellow men, doing what they can to aid them in the way they could. A competent leader must be trustworthy, a transparency to each of them that will determine a group/community's condition under who is fit to lead. To sum it all, everyone should have a leader that will put them first and care for them as their own.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For me, you can know if a person is a competent leader or not if he/she has an initiative in every task that his/her group is performing at that given time. How does a person or a leader approach a task, and how does that leader communicate and distribute appropriate parts for each member that makes use of their current skills; that will also result in testing their observation skills toward their surroundings to plan and formulate a better course of action. How a leader treats his subordinates and people is also a significant factor in being an effective, respectable, and inspiring leader is also a sign of being a competent leader. Obtaining the trust and respect of the people a leader manages is a great feat as it shows what kind of actions, hardships, and trials that person undertakes. The people will know that you, as a leader, are a leader that always shows the trait of competitiveness; you who always manage to finish what you started and constantly see the end of all job that is assigned to you.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my own understanding,&nbsp;a leader can be considered competent if:</div><ol><li><strong><em>they can identify the needs and the problems of their group or community</em></strong>,</li><li><strong><em>they would have a sustainable plan and would be willing to make their ideas into fruition</em></strong></li><li><strong><em>they are willing to respect and listen to their followers, people, or groupmates</em></strong></li><li><strong><em>they are responsible and can be held accountable for their actions</em></strong></li></ol><div>For example, in a community, there is a huge demand and need for something to be done or changed. A competent leader would know and understand where the demand of the people would be coming from, for they know the needs of their people and they listen to their points and suggestions.&nbsp; A competent leader would not simply idle around when they are presented with a problem at hand. They would be active and try to come up with a solution that is best suited for the problem that they are facing. For they know that as a leader, they were picked or chosen to be able to handle the responsibility that entails into being one.&nbsp;Being a capable and competent leader is not just a position that can be used to be able to feel high and mighty. For capable leaders, this would be  considered as a huge responsibility, because they understand their duty to be able to help, guide, and lead their group or people into progress.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We have often identified good leaders as competent. We are so invested in good leadership that somehow we misconceived the concept of competency. In my definition, <em>a competent leader has a sense of responsibility to the organization and members that they direct, under having skills for survival</em>. We might identify competent leaders if they have the following qualities:</div><div><br></div><ol><li><strong>Have the empathy to connect with other people</strong></li><li><strong>Confident in their action and decisions</strong></li><li><strong>Creative in managing a solution&nbsp;</strong></li><li><strong>Transparent in every little detail and information, and</strong></li><li><strong>Having the perseverance and passion in achieving goals.</strong></li></ol><div><br></div><div>But in my perspective, having these degrees of characteristics is not enough to be considered competent if they have no force to stand on something that is what makes them sit. Leaders lack sufficiency- at this point, we have a lot of leaders that think and act like a king because they could get the position by acquiring it without enough background on what they are running. A competent leader should have advanced proficiency and knowledge about what they are leading in. Leadership is like a game of survival- you can't be considered competent if you don't know how to play the game properly. In a simple illustration, competency is how a leader protects their member from any other harm that the predator of issues and cases produces- and not only himself. Competence is equal to the unselfishness of a leader to take his people to victory- and not only himself.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
