Yes, I think school uniforms should not be mandatory. It is because it can lessen the financial cost. Parents usually have to buy the school uniforms for their children every year because it tend to get torn and dirty at the end of the year. In this economy, school uniforms are very expensive and not all parents are afford to buy for each of their children. So, they just can wear their own clothes to school everyday.
