         <description><![CDATA[<div> John Cabot as A skilled navigator who wanted to explore the world. He was born around 1450. In 1496 King Henry the seventh Gave John Cabot permission to explore any unknown land. I know that if explorers find any unknown land or new land then it belongs to their region. He left England on May 1497 on a small ship. June 24 he claimed land for England and sailed back. That same year Cabot sailed back to North America and explored as far out as Chesapeake Bay. John Cabot died around 1499. Nobody really knew how. Some say he was killed in a shipwreck, others say he died soon after he returned to England. I think John Cabot was trying to live up to what Christopher Columbus did as an explorers </div>]]></description>

His real name is Giovanni Caboto.</li><li>Where did he learn how to sail a boat? He learned how to sail when working at a trading company</li><li>What was the way to get silk and spices from Asia? The only way to get Asia’s silk and spices was to go east from Europe and paying middleman.</li><li>Why did some think that he died in a shipwreck? They thought this because he ran into many storms when sailing.</li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp;John Cabot left England in May, 1497 to Asia. He sailed on a small ship with 17 men and sailed North of Columbus’s route trying to avoid Spain. They traveled along the coast of Ireland and west across the Atlantic.</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp;On June 24, John Cabot reached the eastern coast of Canada. He was disappointed because he didn’t find any Asian cities so he sailed back to England to tell the king what he found on his voyage.</div>]]></description>
