A book such as Look Both Ways that contains so many different stories that Jason Reynolds created quite well. Most of them being mostly about in African Americans and all about them. Each story containing connection with one another with them having one in common, that being about and focusing on life in middle school. Some stories also have another when in specific stories, It being about the friendship between each people. Like the type of friendship that can be wholesome and caring between one another with love and considerate.

From all of the relation and caring that someone could give to someone you can truly actually care about. Such as in "Booger Water bears". How the relation between T.J and Jasmine had, with weirdness and a actual strong friendship. Within the 'Water Booger Bears' story. It stated how Jasmine know if she couldn't do her Combination,"At least she knew that T.J is right there to help" (3) her at any moment if she struggled. As well T.J whole 'Humorous' jokes, and Jasmine truly "Appreciated the fact he was always made her laugh whether she wanted to or not" (7). And that tells a lot of how much their friendship is all caring and really comfortable by just being with another. Another example... In "Five Things Easier To Do Than Simeon And Kenzi's Secret Handshake". Simeon and Kenzi brotherly relationship. Even if their height difference, ahem.. Kenzi very own short height compared to Simeon ^{(K:I get it.)}. Simeon actually truly care about Kenzi well being whenever Kenzi going classes to classes throughout the very hallway full of tall people and he want to protect him, "I love kenzi, I protected him. I make sure he can maneuver down these busy hallways without worrying about anything. I'm basically his bodyguard" (103). Though, no matter what they will forever be there and care about each other. After all, they are brothers. " 'Brother' Kenzi said. 'Brother' Simeon repeated-" (114). Considering the two examples of friendships was very helpful with this type of theme, Friendship, Both tells how a friendship can be, such as getting along, trusting with one another. And finally a non-related family friendship, like brothers.

Throughout the story of "The Low Cuts". It was said how much Bit really cares about their own gang members, and how much he will go out his way to just protect them. Like how he just deal with John John own bully( A kid named Trey) with the name calling and teasing with a simple punch in the mouth, "That was the last 'john john' Trey spoke before bit's fist fist went to his mouth".(24) Another caring character was Simeon. Within the story of "Five Things Easier To Do Than Simeon's And Kenzi's Secret Handshake". Simeon was really truly considerate with Kenzi's own dangerous travel and own pure heart he has, Simeon stating how much he "hate that heart to be broken because that body" of his "was knocked around".(102) Soon to be told, both of this caring and love character towards to their special important people to them gives some true aspect of how friendship's relation can be most of the time of good friends. Though the seriousness of the concern and struggles their important person may had in their life. Make a huge amount of worrying for them, hence why they will do anything to protect their love ones.

A symbol of one own friendship can be respresented by a simple something or a traditions or others, a habit. Like look at the 'Friendship Flags' in "Water Booger Bears". Where T.J and Jasmine have old cheetos bags with cheetos dust written on of it, and as said in the book. It had "litter of love. And because Jamine had been gone for a while, they were basically notes that said 'I miss you'".(3) Or other words... They were just notes that T.J and Jasmine passing on with each other between periods to say something to the other. Their care and desire to meet one another. Another Symbolism thing for friendship was the handshake Simeon and Kenzi had, within the story "Five Things Easier To Do Than Simeon And Kenzi's Secret Handshake." A handshake with brotherly love between Simeon and Kenzi's with "Life science in full effect" (100). A very helpful way to have someone Friendship to be symbolism by something that both have as a tradition or habit. Truth to be told. The overall narrative shows how friendship is very important in Middle school life and going to it. Hence why the three stories "Water Booger Bears", "The Low Cuts", And "Five Things Easier To Do Than Simeon And Kenzi's Secret Handshake" mostly and I say all interconnected into the theme of 'Friendship', With All being told in a third person perspective.

Personal reflecton & Conclusion

Though, overall.. The book "Look Both ways" of the three stories seriously told me how a friendship can actually be in the real world, with the good certain of people. And it actually really tells me how a real friendship between best friends can be. Wholesome, caring, love, and understanding to one another. Wish it can be true sometimes, though it's real life. The whole theme of Friendships represented in so many different ways with relationship, the whole character being all about caring to the other, and just a whole tradition that symbolize the whole thing. And I can finally say that throughout the analyzing between T.J and Jasmine whole comfortable relationship, the whole low cuts having each other backs to get money, as well Simeon and Kenzi's brotherly care and love for one another. Friendship can truly be special with love and care, and wholesome moments of kindness and will be forever be dear and treasured within the hearts of friends.
