-Witnessing or being involved in  death
-Undergoing major surgery
-witnessing or experiencing crimes(kidnapping, aussault, murder)
-witnessing or experiencing community violence(mass murder, suicide of a friend)
-physical or sexual abuse
 The effets of PTSD are categorized in 4 main types of symptoms:

#1.Re-experience of traumatic events, :
-Intrusive, upsetting memories of the eventts
- Flashbacks about trauma(s)
- Nightmares about trauma(s)
- Intense distress when reminded of trauma(s)
- Intense physical reactions to reminders of trauma(s)

#2.Avoidance and numbing:
- Avoiding activities, places, thoughts or feelings that reminds you of the trauma(s)
- Inability to remember key points in trauma(s)
- Loss of interest iin activities and life in general
- Feeling detached from others and emotionally numb

#3.Hyperarousal:
- Insomnia
- Irritability and angry outbursts
- Hypervigilance(constantly on ''alert'')
- Easily startled
- Aggressive, reckless behaviour

#4.Negative thoughts and mood swings:
- Guilt, shame self-blame
- Feeling alone or alienated
- Feeling mistrust or betrayal
- Difficulty remembering or concentrating
- Depression and hopelessness


The chance of developing PTSD increasese with the severity of the trauma, the symptoms effects differs between different traumatic experiences, grimness of the event, age, sexe, enviromment,etc...
