In the book, the main characters mom passed away and is at his moms funeral. I watched a show called Young Sheldon, where the dad passes away and he has to attend his dads funeral, just like the main charecter in the stranger.

If I were to choose a song for this part in the book I’d chose, American pie by Don Mclean. Because in the song it says, “ the day, the music died.” Which can be related to the book because the mother passes away.

Meursault returns to work on Monday. His boss asks about his mother's funeral, and Meursault responds shortly. Later, he has lunch with his coworker Emmanuel at a restaurant called Céleste's. Afterward, Meursault takes a nap and then returns to work for the rest of the afternoon.

Today when I read, I found out that Meursault finds out that his mother has died.

I’m curious about his mother death, and how she died or if she got sick or something like that.

Right before Meursault is executed, it’s revealed that the man he killed had faked his death to bamboozle the police and escape debts. This surprise shocks everyone, especially since Meursault showed no guilt. The man returns and says he felt a strange affinity for Meursault’s calm nature, which helped him survive. This twist would change the story from one about punishment and emotion to one about lies, fate, and unexpected connection.
