Author Marc Brown wrote and illustrated Arthur's Teacher Trouble.

Summary:
Arthur's Teacher Trouble started off with Arthur beginning a new school year. He was in the 3rd grade with Mr. Ratburn. Supposedly, Mr. Ratburn was the hardest teacher in the school. All the other students who have had him before told Arthur they were sorry he has him. Saying if he made one mistake he was done for the rest of the year. Arthur was always stating he has so much homework. He did not have any time for anything else. Arthur's sister D.W. kept making fun of him of always having to do homework or studying. He did not get to have fun like all the grades were having. Then that Friday he had a 100 words spelling test. Who ever got all of the correct would represent the 3rd grade class in the all-school spellathon. As the all-school spellathon took place, all of Arthur's hard work paid off in the end.

Everyone was practicing their magic tricks and April fools jokes. Then Arthur was practicing his tricks for the next day. Then Binky Barnes grabbed his favorite pen and put in his pocket. Then Binky kept teasing Arthur then Francine said why don't you pick on someone your own size. Then Binky said Arthur, I am going to Pulverize you. So the whole time until the April Fool's Assembly Arthur could only think about how Binky was going to Pulverize him. He could not eat, sleep, or think. He was scared the entire time. Finally, it was his turn for the April Fools Magic Trick, and Binky was the first to volunteer. In the end, Arthur got in back with an April's Fool Joke!

Author Marc Brown wrote and illustrated Arthur's Eyes.

Summary:
Arthur's Eyes is about how Arthur can not see anything. He would sometimes get headaches. When he was trying to read the chalkboard he could not see it. He had to have Francine read it to him. When he played basketball he could not see the basket, so he would miss everything. From that no one wanted him on their team. Finally his parents took him to the eye doctor. The eye doctor told him he needed glasses. The next day at school Arthur wore his new glasses and could finally see everything. But when he got on the bus his friend Francine called him "four eyes" and others were saying names too. So Arthur every chance he could would try to hide his glasses so he would not be made fun of. He would rather not see anything then be made fun of. One day, Arthur did not have his glasses and something happened where if he had his glasses on could have been prevented. In the end, Arthur and his Francine both wore glasses even though Francine did not need them.

Arthur was having a big birthday party. He got invitations to pass-out to his friends at school. When he handed Muffy, a girl in his class his invitation she said she was having her Birthday Party on the same day. Arthur said you have to cancel yours I have family coming in from Ohio. Muffy said I can't change it I already booked the rock band and Pickles the clown. So the whole class was trying to decide which party they were going to go to. The girls were going to Muffy's and the boys were going to Arthur's. But each group was saying how the party won't be the same without everyone. Then Arthur and Francine had an idea. In the end, the whole class got to celebrate both Arthur and Muffy's Birthdays together.
