In this image a parent has come in for a reading event in their classroom. In my preschool program I actively encourage parental participation to help build a strong connection between home and school. I invite parents to join us for special events, such as craft days, reading sessions, and holiday celebrations.

Parent Communication

This communicated is sent out on a weekly bases via email and through my centers childcare app. The newsletter serves as a communication to the parents regarding what is going on in the classroom last week and what we learned as well as what will be going on this week in the classroom. There is also sections to add any special activities or announcements that I wish for parents to know and be aware of.

Inclusiveness, Independence, Self-Care

This is a Safe Place corner to promote inclusiveness, independence, and self-care among my preschoolers. The area includes soft pillows and a comfortable seating arrangement, calming toys, books about feelings. These all help children manage their emotions, practice self-control, encourage self-awareness, and emotional regulation. Providing an area where children can independently access resources to calm down and reflect I help them to foster their ability to take care of their emotional needs and build self-reliance.

The visual schedule helps children understand and anticipate transitions throughout the day. By clearly showing the steps and expectations for moving from playtime to circle time it supports a smooth and predictable transition. I also use a timer and a bell to signal the end of one activity and the beginning of another to provide visual and auditory cues that help children prepare for the change. This setup promotes independence and reduces anxiety which makes transitions smoother and more efficient.
