At the beginning of the book Hilary was judging the Jews but know that she has gotten to know them she isn't judging them anymore. On page 19 it says, "I don't know nothing about the kid."  Hilary now wants to help the kid even though he is a Jew.  On page 118 it says, "Get your janitor friend to unlock the school again, and then you can get him out."  This also shows that she wanted to help the Jew instead of hurting him.
