Excellent ideas, resources and tips for building engagement in reading and literacy between home and school. I really liked the  focus on literacy as a way to get parents involved in their child's education. Reading together is such an easy way to be involved in your child's schooling but if you don't know how to help them it can be intimidating. I like this idea of personalizing via the Principal and Staff (can be on rotating basis with staff) to connect with and communicate with parents on their way to work.  I might also consider taking the bus occasionally to greet parents whose kids ride the bus.

The Student Engagement Support Teacher focuses on bringing both parents and community members into the classroom. This creates a sense of families being welcomed and their knowledge valued at schools.
