But if a person knew what the life of an engineer is like at the beginning of their career, they would certainly give up. Sometimes it is much better not to know. Ignorance is bliss!

I lost the count of the time I had lunch there.

One day, I invited my friend to have lunch and we went to this restaurant. At the end, my friend asked about the quality of the food.

I immediately asked if he liked the food, and he said, "Yes, of course! It was Delicious! But Do you know how they prepare the food?"

And I said, "Of course not...It was Delicious! It is the most important thing here. Ignorance is Bliss!".

“Grandma, what’s in this?” I said, casually looking at the stew in front of me.

“Oh, just some vegetables, a little bit of garlic, some cow tongue, and a touch of—”

I stopped, feeling betrayed by my own grandmother. “Since when do I eat tongue?!” I asked.

“Since you were five” she answered, completely unfazed, adding more stew to my plate. I stared at my food, suddenly aware of the questionable texture I had happily ignored for years. Then, with a deep sigh, I accepted my fate.

“Guess ignorance really is bliss,” I muttered, taking another bite, because that was still delicious.

Only later did I realize just how selective the company was in its hiring process—and that the position wasn’t just any role. It was for Production Manager, responsible for both planning and maintenance, something I had no clue about. Yet, to my surprise, they still offered me the job. And the best part? The salary was even higher than what I was earning before.

Turns out, ignorance really is bliss!

To protect him, we decided not to tell him the whole truth. We told him it was a dangerous cold and we had to wear a mask to protect ourselves. I don't usually lie to my son, but in this case, ignorance was bliss.
