they reduce distances and make the world a little bit smaller than it is;
you feel a little bit "safer" being in the comfort of your own room;
you can literally meet the whole world and do whatever you like (even cookies!)
CONS
No human contact (cool as you want, but I'm a very physical person...I like to feel the  warmth and presence of the other person).
Sometimes it's not as stimulating as it seems and you might end up turning off mic and camera and mind your own business (which is bad on both sides).
