I believe my vision board shows that I like nature and being outside. Therefore, think play is an essential tool for a child developmental learning. I would want to become a teacher in a low income area where I can make a difference; and eventually become a principal. I want to make sure low income children and parents get the available resources. Connect with parents, children and build a stronger community that supports children; and perhaps show that play is important when it comes to learning. Learning is not just worksheets and tests. I want all children to achieve their highest potential and do their best.

-What I decided to do this week was to be proactive. I will not be meeting with my mentor teacher or her classroom, because the children in her class still don’t have access to their tablets. We are hoping that they will get them within the next two weeks.

- I decided to complete the certificate of achievement on The 3R’s of Early Childhood. The videos and modules were extremely informative. Specially, for me since I’ll be a new mom. The modules gave great insight on what to expect aswell as what is “normal” behaviors and developmental achievements based on family heritage.

- I have attached 3 images that show completion of the modules for a total of 6 hours.

They got to use a ruler and measure the height of their choice of toy.
-What I learned today is that an educator need to be intentional with their lesson. Ms. Julie knows that children are a bit more tired in the morning and decided to do something engaging such as yoga. She got her mat and was showing us simple yoga moves.

I wish it would have been under different circumstances, because I wanted to hug her😅. I think she’s such an amazing, sweet teacher. Every time we are in class she always has the sweetest spirit with the warmest smile. Makes the children feel safe and cared for. I enjoyed the lesson today, because children learned/ were able to visualize their number in 4 different ways. The first way was by counting with our fingers, the second was with dots shown on the screen, third they had to write the number down and finally with play dough they had to represent what number they had written down/seen on the screen. What I learned is that there are many creative ways to get children interested in a simple lesson such as number recognition and representation. It was given to them in a more exiting/engaging way.

Out of all the days I’ve visited the class they seem to be more engaged when it came to a hands on activity that foster exploration, and their senses. The children enjoyed getting their own objects from home and make their own predictions.
-Mrs. Julie is such an amamasing teacher. She’s very attentive and listens to children. She does not make children feel bad if the get something wrong such as the letter of the week. What I learned today was to be caring and compassionate. Children will not always remember something during class even if they had heard it the day before; but that’s okay. Had great input from her on how I could add images to show children hand movements for our song.

10/22/20 @9-9:30 & 3-3:30pm
Implemented my lesson. It was a bit nervous, because I’ve never taught a small lesson. The only experience I have is doing provocations. Mrs. Julie gave me feedback for the afternoon session such as verbally acknowledging or stating what I see children doing during the activity. Showing that I’m still attentive to what each child is doing.
So for the afternoon session we had trouble with the sound there was poor internet connect; but what I have learned from Mrs. Julie is to keep going even if something goes wrong. Children usually are not aware when something goes wrong such was the case of our song.
- Overall I think the lesson went well. I think it was a great experience teaching a virtual lesson with children. I would have love to of done it in person because you can be more hands on and interact with children more. As well as expand the lesson if children still showed interest while in class.

-Lesson was on colors.
Morning greeting. Pumpkin song that showed different colors was shown, children shared their toy and color. Interactive book was read Brown Bear Brown Bear. Activity was to place color mats on the floor. Children grabbed an item that represented the color mat that was given. The purpose of the activity was to introduce children to their colors.
- Today, what I learned from my mentor teacher was her appreciation for children’s language development. After the Webex meeting was over she mentioned that the reason she wanted children to share their toy was to get more verbal communication from them. Since she feel that online learning is mainly done as a one women show. Meaning the educator dictates/ teaches the lesson and children just sit there and listen. I see that for Mrs. Julie having one on one interaction with children is very important. Which ties with what we are learning and reading in class.

The purpose was for children to compare sizes.
-Today, they made bubbles we used pipe cleaners to make our wands, water and dish soap to make the bubble mixture.
-The questioned asked was “how can we make bubbles?”
- I’m not sure that I learned anything new today. The lesson plane went smooth. We did not have any technical difficulties. However, Mrs. Julie did play her guitar when singing our morning song. Which I think is pretty awesome. She’s so talented. She sings, plays instruments and appreciates the students in her class. You can clearly see her sincere passion for teaching. I think the ability she has to incorporate music in her class can encourage students to maybe pick up an instrument as well. She’s always patient when children have a hard time answering a question, and never gets frustrated. It’s something I really appreciate I’m an educator.

We did however, had difficulties with the wifi which was a bit frustrating because I couldn’t hear children answering/interacting with me. I just seen their images move. Over all I think the lesson went okay. Hopefully the afternoon class does not have any WiFi connection problems.

- The afternoon class went a bit better. Children were more engage and were able to tell me why we couldn’t see germs. However, Mrs. Julie still had WiFi problems and there was an echo. Children participated in answering questions on what were the steps to washing their hands.

- I spent $6 on materials. They were able to get the concept as well as enjoyed the props I bought them. We also went over the course of this semester.
