It is the idea that by looking at someone you can tell things about them that they didn't tell you. It requires very acute observations skills. It sounds like something cliche and straight out of a crime TV show... because it is. One of my favorite TV shows is Sherlock. A TV show about, you guessed it, Sherlock Holmes.
