Some examples include Judy Buckey, Ray's mother, took Judy Johnson's son to a church and him made watch the beheading of a baby and made him drink blood. She also insisted that Ray sodomized her son while his head was in the toilet. 
Also there were accusations made that sexual photographs were taken of the children. There were multiple parents in the community saying he was sexually abusing their children. The first trial started on July 14, 1987. Ray denied each and every prosecution charge. On November 2, 1989, after 30 months of testimony the case went to the jury. The jury took 2.5 months deliberating its verdicts. The 2nd trial took 13 days.
