It follows a core group of survivors led by the lead character Rick Grimes. I would argue that The Walking Dead is a Hybrid drama.  While the show is not a traditional family-style drama, it does have some of the qualities associated with it.  The survivors who join together form a family and deal with family conflicts, all while trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Teenagers (below) who come of age in this apocalypse face many of the issues they might have faced before.   Including going against authority and peer pressure. Here the character of Henry is encouraged to go outside the community walls.
