When introducing the engineering project, this could be read aloud in order for learners to understand what it means to engineer a device, in order to solve a problem. This is a diverse book because it shows the main character, a girl, as an engineer. The STEM field is traditionally male-heavy, so this shows girls that they, too, can be in that field.

What happens when there are not pollinators? In cold Greenland, animals have a hard time surviving. And oddly enough, bees are not common. So how are these flowers able to bloom? Students can work with a partner to compare pollinators in the US to Greenland. This is brining diversity to the classroom because Greenland is another country. It also has a very different climate to California. So this article would be a window to another area in the world.
