Three things that I took away from the reading this week was that it is an essential skill to know how to read an infographic article. According to the infographics article it also very important to slowly teach your students about infographics and to show them in different sections such as the concept of the infographic, how to decode the images, and then how to create their own. The final point that I took away from this week was from the pinning with pause article that teachers using a checklist can help them to determine how to create activities that are useful to our students.

Katelyn

Overall, it is a great way to deep dive into a topic, understanding it better, while then sharing thoughts that are not within a larger reading. It's a great way to highlight.

Just because it looks like a cute, fun learning activity, doesn't always make it good for a lesson. The example of QU wedding was a interesting activity to look over and understand how to use the checklist.

Great way to collaborate with others and have conversations about topics quickly.

Emily

In the Pinning with Pause article I thought the important message was that while resources such as Teachers Pay Teachers can be great and beneficial for your classroom, there are many resources out there that are not. I like how they created a checklist to help determine if the resource or activity surpports the learning goals and promotes equity-oriented learning. This is something that I think teachers sometimes forget.

In the article How Infographics Boost Media Literacy the statistic that 13% of 3rd grade reading comprehension is strongly related to making sense of images is interesting.

In the same article, I thought the 4 steps of the framework, exploratin, investigation, creating, and interrogation was a great way to break it down.

Lindsey
