Advantages of Making Cake:

1. The cost is cheaper.

The average bakery cake will cost you significantly more than you would pay for buying the ingredients to make the cake yourself. Most upscale bakeries will charge you anywhere from RM 10.00 – RM 15.00 per slice of cake, depending on the overall size and type of cake. That’s quite a hefty price if you’re looking to feed a number of people. We can cut the costs to RM5.00 – RM8.00 per slice by making our very own cake.

2. Quality concern. 

We will use the raw material with high quality and maintain the good quality raw material, so the quality of the cake is a concern. Because we don’t contain additional preservatives and chemicals like the cake in the bakery. It is healthier and hygienic. 

3. Shortage. 

No need to worry about if a shortage of competent suppliers occurred. If we outsource from a supplier, it may be facing this problem with a shortage in a certain time. So, when we can produce by ourselves, we can just make the cake when there is customer demand.

4. Knowing the time taken by the process

By manufacturing the cake by ourselves, we will understand the process completely, including the time required, and therefore how and when we can fulfill the customers' orders.

5. Avoid unnecessary costs.

Since we make the cake by ourselves, no need to outsource from the supplier, thus the supplier has no need to ship the cake for us, which can help us to save the transportation and the shipping fees.

1. First, we will identify expertise for each of group member. In order to help the other learn from the experience. But first, the most important is team members must filly trust to each others.

2. Second, we will appoint a dedicated and leadership leader. A quality leader is able to guide his subordinates well as can produce quality work. It plays an important role and needs to be emphasized because the head must be a firm person to give instructions, have a speech in communication well so that his subordinates can receive instructions with an open heart and easily understand the instructions given.

3. Third, we start to design the job by identifying the methods for doing the project, project schedules, and equipment needed.

4. Next, we will divide the project task to few smaller part. Then, do a task analysis. Coordinate and distribute the different tasks for each team member. Consider what equipment and features are important for completing the tasks.

5. After that, conduct meetings regularly to discuss the details of project tasks and how to implement them to achieve the targeted goal. The time meeting should be short and the content of discussion also can be useful and precise. Every group member can give their opinions to each other to complete their tasks. Then, the group members can have more ideas and think about the best alternative way to complete the tasks effectively.

In making a successful self-directed team, there are four characteristics that a team will need to make sure the team members can work together smoothly. 

1. Joint responsibility – A self-directed team is a with individuals that are an expert in their field. In our case, our group may have consisted of individuals from the same course but, each of us may have been an expert in the topics that will be included in the project. Some might have understood the topic better than others. So, it will be helpful to do the project makes it run more smoothly

2. Interdependence – as each team member is given responsible to finish their specific task, therefore, there might be certain inconvenience occur in between them. They shall not act in the way of breaking the trust given on them. Since the other team members work dependence on them, therefore they shall get the work done. Besides that, if there is any inconvenience in between the team members, they shall get it settled by discussing in order for them to work harmoniously.

3. Empowerment – Giving chance to each team member the certain power to provides them with opportunities to make their own decision regarding the task or project. For example, in our group project, the individual deciding what kind of work design used in the café, will have the utmost say in that matter since he or she are the expert. 

4. Common goal – Set clear goals and objectives in the project. Clear goals and objectives such as increasing customer satisfaction will be set up as objectives to be achieved. So that, all individuals will know what should do in their workplace and work together in the same conjunction towards a common goal in the business. For example, the individual who is an expert in location analysis will be analyzing how the current location of the café can contribute to the increasing of customer satisfaction

1. We will  plan our team into a few department according to our strength and major in university which are stock department (order product logistic and warehouse), sales and marketing department, finance department, customer service department, human resource department (pharmacist and staff).

 
2.Build trust
Trust is an essential element in a self-directed project team because it makes us tell the truth and correctly about the project. If team members trust each other, the discussion environment will be more relaxed. We can also hear sincere advice from others if we propose an idea and its feasibility for solving a problem. Trusted relationships with team members get rid of the conflict, and we are just required to focus on the project objectives and goals without worrying about other issues.

 3. Interdependence 
We will in charge in our specific work such as the job as a cashier, a person who serve the customers buying stuff, the pharmacist help the customer buy the medicine. In a self-directed project team, interdependence will make the employee to complete their own part but will have some related to one another.  So, all of us with the staff should trust  and collaborate one another to complete their job and achieve the business goal. 

4.Communication
Communication is a critical phase of project execution. Good communication will reduce errors and only help the team to increase the success rate. We should have a discussion  every week to discuss the problem that faced in that week and find solution to solved it.

 5.Leadership requirement
As we know, leaders can be found at many levels of a firm. Self-managing teams do not eliminate the requirement for good leadership both within and outside the team. A team need a support group that can provide advice, mentorship, and ideas. Thus, a self-managed team will typically find a leader on its own but having other leaders available outside of the team is also important.

6. We must support employee-driven decisions for a self-managed team to succeed. In most businesses, upper management has a role in defining the mission, as well as the product and project goals. Being self-managed will be impossible if the company's upper management team must approve all choices, regulate day-to-day team operations, and monitor low-level details of the team's work.
