The brain sends a nerve impulse, known as Action Potential, this causes the voltage gated Calcium ion channels to open and so the Calcium ions flow into the Neuron. This stimulates the release of the Acetylcholine into the cleft. Which then binds to the receptor sight that activates the voltage gated sodium to pump in Na+ and K+ out, making it depolarized. This continues down and opens other voltage gated channels allowing the action potential to move. The concentrations then change the permeability which makes the voltage gated K+ pumps open to allow the K+ to diffuse back across the sarcolemma, which is known as repolarization.
