Bioflux is a portable telemetry unit developed by Biotricity in California. It is essentially a 3 lead ECG that can be worn throughout a persons life without causing discomfort. This would continuously transmit data to the cloud. When a wearer feels a symptom such as shortness of breath or palpitations, they can press a button on the device to create an alert. Depending on the severity of any abnormal readings, a call center will review the ECG and changes, alerting physicians and patient if an intervention is needed.

1. Simplicity: the device is easy to use and only has one button
2. Safety- There is 24/7 monitoring of the wearers ECG during their time with the device. The data is encrypted for patients information safety, and it can be used/stored for up to 30 days.
3. Compatibility- The software is FDA cleared and compatible with phones and apps, connecting our health easily to our physicians.
4. Helps create accurate diagnosis in real time as opposed to only treating symptoms after they have occurred or preventing heart issues to occur.

Working with insurance to cover this cost of care.
3. Competing with similar but not as accurate technology being released on smaller devices like watches and smart phones.
4. Marketing this for actual medical diagnostic purpose as opposed to a consumer who wants to be able to obtain an ECG could be an issue.

I do enjoy reading about new technologies. When it comes to cardiac and heart problems, this is something that affects so many Americans and is the leading cause of death. To find and diagnose arrhythmia can be tricky as people are not always presenting with them at the time of an ECG. Using technology to create smaller and user friendly devices that connects our data with our doctors in real time is an incredible technology. Many people, that have a high risk for cardiac disease and death, whether that be genetic risk factors or lifestyle risk factors would benefit from wearing one of these devices for 30 days at least. Primary and preventative care in our country is embarrassing as so many people are not diagnosed with conditions until it is too late. People would be willing to wear a device like this as long as it is discreet and does not affect their daily lives, as well as affordable. I think this technology will continues to advance to become even smaller and wireless. The most important part that intrigues me is that the data is being monitored 24/7 and can be saved. This technology can save many lives, not only from cardiac death but from strokes from patients being in atrial fibrillation and not knowing until it is too late.

Isabelle will make sure that we are all feeling appreciated and part of the team.
Aemlia/Adaptability- I will utilize Amelia to help us adapt in this ever changing climate of medical technology and lean on her to guide us through change.
