Definition: Appeal to Authority is when an advertiser will use someone higher on a scale than the consumers in terms of authority to be in the advertisement whether they're making claims or just being in sight, it'll still draw their attention.

Connection: This product has been proven to work by many friends that I know, even my older brother! Honestly this product would have never made it into my house if my brother did not see Justin Bieber on the commercial. For that reason i think this is a good example that shows how appeal to authority works. There are so many other products out there for skin care, what did this one do different? They had Justin Bieber in their commercial that at the time, made this product a want for many teenagers both male and female who were in need of some skincare help.

Definition: A Red Herring is when someone says something to mislead someone or simply take them off their current thought to engage in something else whether it be as important or not at all.

Connection: This here is a very simple example of Red Herrings. The viewer of this photo starts off by looking at a panda, or to most people just a black and white animal. Then reads the post, now the viewer is worried about homeless people. Thats completely okay, the amount of people going homeless is unbelievable but so is the fact that Panda's, Such beautiful animals are going to be extinct soon.

Definition: Ancient Wisdom is something that comes from the past, something from many years ago that people once used or did often before todays research and improvements. Example: to "cure" like medicine does today, "ancient teas" also known as tea but, from the past. Made of different herbs, spices, plants, etc were once used as "medicine". Whether or not it scientifically worked or just made you feel better at the time, many families depending on religion, culture, and tradition still actually use these remedies.

Connection: This image is not of tea, or something old that people used to get better, this is a photo of a male in a Sauna. An example of what the elderly suggest you do when you've got a cold. "Sweat it out" they say. However it has been proven that this does not actually work.

Definition: An example of confirmation bias is when someone only goes by what they think or believe in. They're not ignorant but they just haven't been taught what they simply don't know, which is what causes someone to take side with what they believe in and completely disregard other information.

Connection: In this photo the person on the right automatically believes the experiment that supported their hypothesis is right, he's going with that. He doesn't see that out of 6 only one supported it. He is absent to the fact that 5 others did not. It's 5 over 1 and I am no scientist but I do not think that submitting the only experiment that supported their hypothesis out of 6, is a good idea.

Definition: From the 3rd movie in the Kung Fu Panda Series, Mystical Energy is "Chi" There are different kinds of Chi. From the movie i've learnt that there is both Positive Chi and Negative Chi.

Connection: This photo is an example of both Positive Chi and Negative Chi. Poe the Panda represents Positive Chi, using his Chi to protect China. Kai on the other hand represents Negative Chi. He in the movie, tried to take the Chi of all the Kung Fu Masters for his own use.

Definition: The unexplained are things, we cannot explain. They are unexpected and when we come across them we've no idea what it is or why it occurred. As seen on TV and in books, For example: something seems to have appeared or gone across my sight, whether it is a shadow or just the motion of warm air through cold air, the first thing the person thinks in their head, is " a spirit, ghost, entity, etc". Often times in these shows or books, they're right but what they cant figure out is, why does what they see only make themselves noticeable to certain people?

Connection: This is a hallway under watch, i've shown this photo to both of my brothers and only my little one was able to see it, not that it isn't visible but, how observant are you? Spotted in this photo at the end of the hall near the stairs.. what I see clearly is a person from their knees up because the top of the stairs are in the way of the lower leg as a fault of the camera angle, but what do you see, The Unexplained?

Definition: Patternicity is a term used to describe an ability we all have but don't always realize when it is active. That ability is creating patterns in our heads by looking at images, symbols, etc, that may be meaningless or irrelevant and arranging them in a way that we can interpret them.

Connection: This may look like a painting but, it is not. Unfortunately it is very easy to see that it is my face in an Indian Ink piece that I made myself. This isn't the best choice of media for this but, I want to simplify patternicity. Aside from the eyes giving it all away, there are white spaces in random parts of the page of all shapes and sizes. The black itself isn't easy to figure out, but if you can congrats! The goal of this Indian Ink portrait is to show that we put out minds to make things without actually acknowledging what we're doing. In the end, we've created something in our heads that only we can understand unless we explain what we see and how we see it, to someone else.

You can see that it is me but, can you tell where I am, what I'm doing?

Definition: An emotional connection is commonly between two people but it doesn't have to be between people alone, it can be between objects, places, poems, songs, art, etc. It is a connection that forms over time as something slowly starts to have an impact on you based on memories, experiences, dreams, etc. However the most common emotion connection is between people, and sometimes it gets out of hand due to an Ad like an example from out lesson, Psychics, Mediums, etc. We hear about these people and think "Wow! I wonder if they would be able to talk to my mom, my dad, my grandparents, maybe ask them if they're doing okay" I'm exaggerating but thoughts like those run through the mind of people who have emotional connections.

Connection: This photo here is an example of what a psychic would do, they would sit down with you alone at a table, and communicate with you in a quiet room, to clearly understand your emotion, they'll ask you questions for clarity to them so they can try to help you find out what you've been wanting to know. Is it 100% real? I do not know. Could it be, well when you think of our brain, we only use a certain percentage of its capabilities, and it is possible to access more of it, so to say for sure, I cannot.
