Some view this film as a ghost story , and people who have looked deeper think it represents the horrors of domestic violence. I do believe that The Shining shows domestic violence in a way that we do not usually see. Turning an issue like domestic violence into a horror movie gives viewers a scary look into what many people face. I also believe the way domestic violence plays into this film is interesting because of what happens to Jack. He freezes to death and we see him in a picture at the film as well.
