<title>Question 1: Look at the juncture between the Couplet and Stanzaic Guy of Warwick on fol. 146vb. What happens to Scribe 1’s handwriting at the start of the Stanzaic Guy (at the line beginning ‘God graunt hem heuen blis to mede’)?</title>

<title>Question 3: What might it suggest about how this book was being put together?</title>

<title>Question 4: There has been disagreement between commentators over whether the text of Otuel was copied by Scribe 1 or by another scribe ‘Scribe 6’. Examine the first folio of Otuel (fol. 268ra-vb) and compare it with a folio known to be by Scribe 1 (e.g. typical folios by Scribe 1 include the opening of Horne Childe on fol. 317v, or fol. 263r from Roland and Vernague). Make a list of any similarities and differences you notice that could be used to either prove or disprove Otuel was copied by Scribe 1:</title>
