We have been thinking about independence and looked at some daily tasks. We asked the children to decide whether they could already complete them independently or if they were getting better. We have then focused on one task a day and I have modelled it to the children for them to practise. After one week there are already some children doing things they couldn’t do before and talking about being independent.

It was lovely to see them writing each other’s names to create lolly sticks and them using them to take the register etc

Bees love playing teachers and copying all their teachers do. This is just an example of spontaneous playing. They freely chosen to pick letter resources and the counting bears to become us. They absolutely love when teachers become children. Try it!

I really enjoy this song and I think that i'ts a very good option for 'Wake and Shake!'

Using the assisstants in the planning of the lessons to try and get as many children active as possible. This may require budget increase to get enough of each piece of equipment.

I saw this on the web but they had used letters of the alphabet. Not relevant for us so I adapted it and used numbers. It was good for matching, recognition of numbers and concentration.👍

In the Comets class we went through sounds cards, then I wrote the sounds on chalk boards, I called out a sound and they had to point to the sound. After the game the children practiced letter formation on the chalk boards.
