-Lawton and Rose (1977:17) implied that there are different trypes of accountability which are polititical, legal, managerial and proffessional accountability. 
- Martin et el (2010) made a comparison between managerial accountability and proffessional accountabiity. 
-Mangerial accountability- he stated that managers are to account for the peromance of their staff. They should control and co-ordinate the work of others. in the case study, G4s the private company is to be held accountable of its staff perfomance, it failed to place out policies and procedures into place to ensure that staff were acting as they should. e.g there was not enough training for some of the staff. 
Proffesional accountability- Martin et el states that this is the responsiblity to ensure that you work as best as yo can proffesionally. in the case study, some staff did not act proffesionally as some of the service users were abused.

perfomance is measured according to different sections service delivery. these are as follows: 
-The safety of young people- inadequate 
-promomoting positice behaviour- inadequate. 
-The care of young people- requires imorovement
-The achievement of young people- requres improvement
-the resettlement of young people- requres imrovement
-the health of young people- requires imorovement
-the effectiveness of leaders and managers- inadequate
All these measurements resulted in the prison being listed to be inadequate overall meaning there are some major improvements that need to be impletmented.
