Family Life
At the age of four Nathaniel did not have a father only a widow mother and two sisters 


Schooling

After his father passed away when he was younger many of Nathaniel's other family members cared for him and his family. When it was time for him to get proper schooling his uncles helped pay for him to get an education at Bowdoin College where he was among many smart and intelligent people, this increased the skill of his writing by far.
