It is important to us and our pupils that we celebrate our collective worships in a variety of ways. We use our singing collective worships to launch the week and use a variety of texts to help children understand the weekly themes.

This term we have launched our new school Bible quote, 'With God, all things are possible' (Matthew 19). Our collective worship helped us to understand how it links with our school values and how this bible quote can support us in our day to day life.

Today we learnt about how Advent means the ‘coming’ of a special event or person, and how Advent is a time of preparation for Christians. We talked about the purpose of the first candle, ‘Hope’. The children wrote down their hopes for the coming weeks and we added them to our collective worship area.

Today Father Stephen lit our first candle for Advent. Pupils read readings that talked about the preparation in the lead up to Christmas. We talked about our worries and ‘threw’ them away.
