         <description><![CDATA[<p>Are you interested in public health? Check out the Tribal Health Experiential Student Internship Seminar (THESIS)! This is an online learning opportunity offered in summer 2025. This is an 8 week, 20 hours/week PAID internship.&nbsp;To learn more about the program and application process, <a rel="noopener noreferrer" class="x_OWAAutoLink" href="https://thesis.spthb.org/">CLICK HERE</a>&nbsp;or look at the brochure at the top.</p><p>The applications are due January 31, but getting started now will give you time to craft a good application and collect all the necessary materials.&nbsp;</p><p>Interns will have the opportunity to learn about diverse topics in public health and to work with a mentor&nbsp;from institutions ranging from the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board to the New York State Dept of Health.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Overview: </p><p>We believe that a structured, fun environment will maximize the probability of success. The&nbsp;8-week summer REU will have three faculty mentors with each faculty mentor working with&nbsp;a group of three students.&nbsp;To encourage interactivity, time will be scheduled every day for mentor student&nbsp;and student-student interaction. Students will also attend timely professional development activities addressing objectives of the REU site, such as Introduction to Mathematical Research, DEI in the Mathematical Sciences, Ethics in the Mathematical Sciences, Introduction&nbsp;to LATEX, How to Give a Great Talk, How to Give a Great Poster Presentation, Choosing a&nbsp;Graduate School, All About the GRE; further, two inspirational talks will be presented, one by&nbsp;a successful previous undergraduate research student and another by a distinguished lecturer who&nbsp;is a known expert on undergraduate&nbsp;&nbsp;research mentoring.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Overview:</p><p>The <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://missouri.edu/">University of Missouri (MU)</a> is hosting a new National Science Foundation REU Site centered on the scientific theme of Close Relationships (Award # 2244383).&nbsp; This <strong><em>9 week summer program</em></strong><em> </em>(8 students per summer) is centered on the interdisciplinary, lifespan developmental, and diverse nature of the scientific study of close relationships.&nbsp; This REU site will take advantage of the collaborative and interactive research environment fostered by the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://farrnet.missouri.edu/">Family and Relationships Research Network of Missouri (FARR-net)</a> at MU.&nbsp; Each undergraduate will be mentored by a primary FARR-net-affiliated faculty member from the departments of Communication, Human Development &amp; Family Sciences, or Psychological Sciences, to design a project related to one or more primary close relationships (i.e., parent-child, sibling, friends, romantic/marital partners) from a developmentally-informed perspective.&nbsp;</p><p><br/></p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li><p>Stipend of $5,400 (minus taxes)</p></li><li><p>On-campus housing – valued at $1,500, (air conditioned dorm room, 2 students per room)</p></li><li><p>Meal Plan – valued at $1,100</p></li><li><p>Travel to/from Columbia, Missouri (<em>Limitations apply when traveling by personal vehicle.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>Overview</em></strong></p><ul><li><p>The Psychology Research Experience Program (PREP) provides intensive mentoring and experience in scientific research and professional development to rising junior and senior undergraduate students with a demonstrated interest in a career in psychological research.</p></li><li><p>In particular, a primary objective of our program is to provide this research experience to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Site Program Feature</strong></p><ul><li><p>9 week research experience in cloud computing security and privacy from 5/20/2024 - 7/19/2024.</p></li><li><p>Receive $6,300 stipend plus $130/week allowance for meals.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Housing is provided for non-local students (i.e., students from other universities).</p></li><li><p>Travel funds up to $700 for to/from the Cloud Computing Security and Privacy REU site.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Participate in professional development workshops/seminars/meetings to develop research and communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Participate and present a poster in the Idaho Conference of Undergraduate Research (<a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.boisestate.edu/icur/">https://www.boisestate.edu/icur/</a>).</p></li><li><p>Possibly win a travel grant to present summer research outcomes at an academic conference.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
