This is interesting. I'm wondering what led Jeannette to saying this? She's three years old and seems a bit used to talking to doctors, nurses, and others. Is this a regular thing? Also, her maturity is also interesting. She sounds much older than 3 at this moment...and I don't think this is OK.

"and she lets me cook for myself a lot." Two nurses looked at each other, and one of them wrote something down on a clipboard. I asked what was wrong. Nothing, they said, nothing.

I picked this one because I want to know why the nurses didnt bother telling her that it is not normal for her age to be cooking by thereselves unsupervised. Also I wanted to know if they addressed the mother on what her daughter said and knows that this should stop for the best of her health because there was a chance that she couldve died and that she was lucky. Maybe next time it wont be so lucky.

"Mom says I'm mature for my age," I told them, "and she lets me cook for myself a lot."

> I was shocked , because at the young age of three Jeanette was very intelligent and she thought that the things her parents allowed her to do was "normal ".

> I was also suspicious of Jeanette mother because I feel like she knew that letting her child do such a task was bad parenting but she truly didn't care. I also wonder if she made Jeanette grow up too fast in a way.

I wonder what else the mother let her do by herself. I don't understand how 3 is "mature" She seemed like a smart toddler at 3 if she can cook for herself, but I would not trust my child to cook for themselves at 3. I wonder if Jeanette's grandmother let her daughter do things for herself like that, maybe that's where she got the idea from.

They took patches of skin from my upper thigh and put them over the most badly burned parts of my stomach, ribs, and chest. They said it was called a skin graft.
