The next one, she talkes about how reading challenges your belifs and viewpoints, giving someone elses shoes to walk through. And finally, she just goes in depth about the viewpoint thing.

Outside reading helps people develop more interests. When people read they learn new things and those things could be new interests. For example a person who is interested in zoology could read a book about animals.
