         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mitosis is a process of cell duplication, in which one cell divides into two genetically identical daughter cells. </p><ul><li><p>In the different stages of mitosis, the cell’s chromosomes are copied and then distributed between the two new nuclei of the daughter cells. </p></li><li><p>Many single-celled organisms rely on mitosis as their primary means of asexual reproduction. </p></li><li><p>The cell replicates its chromosomes and then splits the copied chromosomes equally to make sure that each daughter cell has a full set. </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Meiosis is a process where a single cell divides twice to produce four cells containing half the amount of genetic information. These cells are our sex cells. </p><ul><li><p>The process of meiosis is characteristic of organisms that reproduce sexually. Meiosis begins with prophase as shown in the photo.</p></li><li><p> During meiosis, homologous chromosomes pair along their lengths. </p></li><li><p>The chromosomes cross over at points called chiasma. At chiasma the chromosomes break and rejoin, trading some of their genes. This recombination results in genetic variation.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
