In Hamlet's absurdly long soliloquy, he compares his father to Claudius, his reflects upon how quickly his mother stopped grieving and remarried, and he loathes how he mother and uncle are now together. He compares the late King Hamlet to Claudius, claiming that his father was a far better king than his uncle. He then thinks about how it only took one month for his mother to remarry. He says that "a beast that wants discourse of reason" would've mourned longer than she did (Shakespeare 154). Finally, Prince Hamlet thinks about how disgusting it is that his mother and uncle now sleep together under "incestuous sheets" (Shakespeare 162).

Hamlet is talking about his father's death. He believes that he should still be allowed to grieve, disagreeing with his uncle/new stepfather. Additionally, at the end Hamlet seems to become suspicious of his mother's and uncle's marriage as it was so quickly after his father's death. Evidence of this is when he says "Oh God, a beast that wants discourse of reason would have mourned longer"(154-155 Shakespeare).

In this speech, Hamlet was condemning his mom and his uncle for so quickly getting married to each other. Like he said in the speech "By what it fled on. And yet, within a month" which is basically saying that a month after the king past she married his uncle. Hamlet is not happy about this marriage, with how fast it took, how gross it is to him and how disrespectful it is to his father. Long soliloquy short, he doesn't like his mother's new marriage and thinks it's gross and disrespectful.
