I used Padlet and Google photos to complete this project. They were both very resourceful. My first image is a photo of myself taken by my boyfriend in a happy self-aware time. She is who I am today. The second photo tells about my very happy early childhood stage. There were ups and downs, but my two parent home and three siblings lived a rather great life in Liberia compared to others.  My war photo shows how the war in Liberia caused my family and me to run away from our homes to a new country for safety. 
This is where my mixed culture photo comes in. The picture explained how we had to adopt the American culture to survive while my parents did their best to have our culture blended in. Trying to balance to town culture and all the changes in our family lead me to a bad few years. I was always angry, fighting, cursing, failing in school, being angry and detached from my family. I picked the 5th photo to illustrate that. After a few struggle years mentally, emotional, developmentally and physically. I learned to love myself, my family and my environments. I became aware of the power I hold as a young, educated and striving black woman in a new country America.
