We talked about where do our stress come from (school or social interaction) and how do we deal with it individually. We realised that some of the methods to deal with stress may be harmful like taking drugs. And we feel like sometimes the ways we deal with it may be just to avoid the problem itself or to distract ourselves and to be better prepared to deal with the problem in reality.

Our group discussed that the solution of coping with stress may sometimes be relaxing activities such as listening to music or sleeping. It may sometimes be useful because it gives us an opportunity to restart again. While, it may sometimes brings negative impacts because some people will use it as an excuse to escape problems. However, I think it is not totally a bad thing because it is important to let go something sometimes. We don’t need to make everything perfect.

In lives, there are so many ways to deal with the stress, such as listening to music and watching a movie and so on. Well, in short terms it might be quite useful or at least more acceptable? However, it is important for us to know if we are actually preparing for encountering the challenges or just avoiding. One of the easiest way imo is just to ask yourself the same question. If you want to be a better person and know yourself you cant keep indulging, you would be honest about the answer. And when the answer is out, we would be taking on the action we need to enforce. It is good to rest sometimes, and we dont need to always move forward. But it is important for us to know if we are making a progress rather than not facing it.

For example, reading, exercising, and meditation can be good ways to help us forget about the stress temporally.

As we have discussed, stress could be turned into motivation if it is at a reasonable amount, not too little, not too much. So what are the methods to do so?

We should use different methods for different types of stress. For example, if you are stressed about an event in your life, you can do your hobbies (reading, playing sports, games) to forget about it. On the other hand, if you are stressed about the workload, you can divide it into small parts and solve each at a time.

There are several types of stress deriving from each kind of daily events.

Thus we have to have various methods to cope with each one. Firstly, reading which is effective in coping with Academic pressure, as u can immerse yourself in a different environments and space, a space of imagination and creativity. Secondly, physical activity allows you to rebuild your dopamine pathway which is suitable for the anxiety of social lives. Last but not least, meditation is very important for someone who worry about future events and assignments, the very key point is to focus on present, cause statistically we spend 30-50%of time worrying about future, which is stressful.
