This is the song I wrote my report on. You can tell that Tyler is clearly trying to get a message conveyed to his listeners with every beat and rhythm he raps. I think i could try to listen to it more often as I really appreciate the emotions in this type of music.

This is a mix of one of the genres I'm most likely to listen too. I really love the style of this music as it includes funk, jazz, and city pop vibes from the 80's.

This is another song from that same genre that I'm least likely to listen to. I would actually listen to it more since I've discovered a certain vibe in the genre that I like to follow. Rap and hip-hop have a variety of beats in which an artist can create to express themselves in each song and thats what I like about this genre.

I love how expressive one photo can be, especially the photos that come from rap and hip-hop. It feels as if every photo that is released by Tyler or any artist in this genre has to do with culture, politics, or something that challenges the social conformity.

As I said, I really like the entire 80's Japanese vibe as its the genre I am most likely to listen too. While listening to this music, you get a groovy and relaxing feeling, while listening to rap provokes a more challenging and hard core feeling. The contrasts are great in certain ways for when you want to listen to something groovy, or something full of force and emotion.

Overview!!

This padlet today is a preview on my music media report. The topic for this report discusses the genre we are least likely to listen to. I chose rap and hip-hop as it is never a first choice for me and I hardly listen to it. The specific song is called Foreword by Tyler, The Creator. It includes topics about LGBT and other rights as Tyler is coming out to the gay community. It has a cultural impact on the LGBT community as other would either oppose or favor his coming out story. Honestly, this genre is so important in todays social and cultural world, as this genre focuses on the change that needs to be made, rather than focus on staying in the conformist norm. This is kind of the opposite of the music I most likely listen to, as I tend to favor 80’s Japanese mixtapes. It gives a funky, jazzy, and groovy vibe which is incredibly easy to get lost into. This may be the complete opposite of rap and hip-hop, but I could listen to both and not be phased at the differences. It's nice to change the dynamic of the genre every now and then. If you want something challenging, listen to rap, but if you want something relaxing ad groovy, listen to the 80's from Japan. All in all, both genres are great and I would definitely listen to rap and hip-hop more.
