You could have your students compare and contrast the difference between how people celebrate lunar new year and how they are used to celebrating new years eve. they can see the beauty in different cultures and learn that different cultures celebrate different things. as the lunar new year is a different time of year. this teaches kids to be ready to embrace traditions and people from all over the world.

One important lesson I could teach is how every family celebrates different things, in many different ways. I could teach my students about the Lunar New Year by doing fun activities such as making a Dancing Chinese Dragon or making shadow puppets. I think using activities would be good for younger students so that they can have fun while learning about other traditions they may or may not celebrate.

These were all good resources to help learn and understand how Chinese New Year is celebrated! They were easy to read, and gave good information. The crafts are very helpful especially to use in your classroom for younger ages. It was interesting to find out my animal is a goat!

I do not have a specific memory about the Lunar New Year, as I don't participate in it. However, I do remember in school learning about it because we have a few Chinese restaurants in our area, and those restaurants are family owned business. Those children attend my old school and still do at Athens, as I would say it has some diversity. Therefore, we were introduced to the Lunar New Year.
