Macbeth, a Double-Crosser?

There has been a rumor spread throughout Scotland of the possible corruption of our king, Macbeth. Some say he is just fortunate to have inherited his power and title, whereas some believe different. There are many conspiracies, some brutal and violent, that are circulating the minds of many Scots. We have traveled south to England to interview a son of the deceased king, Malcolm. When asked what he thinks about Macbeth this was his reply: "I hate that dirty tyrant! He killed my father in his lust for power and he will share the same fate! That's why I am assembling an army that is prepared to fight for the freedom of Scotland. I also can say that it surprised me that he would do this, as he was sworn to protect my father". The next question we asked was why he had very conspicuously moved to England at the same time as the murder of his father, to which he replied: "I understand how this can seem, but why would I do that to my father at such a happy time after he announced me heir to the throne? It just doesn't make sense that I would do that if I knew I was going to be king anyway”.

Fleance, what happened

Through the help of a source which must be kept unknown our news station has been able to arrange a meeting with the missing Fleance, son of Banquo. The last known sighting of Fleance was with his father after they had left the castle of Macbeth, when they were ambushed in the shadow of the night by unknown attackers. Banquo's body was found, but Fleance's was yet to be known, until now. The terms of the encounter are that the interviewer is not allowed to take pictures and will be led to an unknown place blindfolded, to prevent Fleance from being found. The first question our reporter asked was simply, what had happened the night of the attack, to which Fleance replied “I myself am trying to figure it out still, all I know is that one moment I am with my Father peacefully talking and the next we were being assaulted by people with masks and daggers. They grabbed my father first, and he yelled for me to run, so I did. I am still hiding because I don't know if they are still out there trying to find me”.

Violence in Scotland

As of late there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of violence in Scotland, be it war, crime, or whatnot. Some of the theories to why this is are as follows: corruption among the authority, a sense or rebellion in the minds of Scots, or a general lust for bloodshed. Recently Scotland has suffered the loss of many good men to the war with the Norwegians. The feeling of loss has continued as we have lost our noble, and brave king, Duncan. We then suffered the loss of the honorable Banquo, and most recently Macbeth. There are rumors of future assassinations and the police have increased their presence around the Castle and the amount of guards on duty has tripled. On the night of Duncan's murder a veteran guard was on duty, when asked about what he saw on his shift he replied: “I saw what can be described as suspicious activity, and when I went to find a guard to help me I found most of the guards drunk”.

The Scotland Social

The citizens of Scotland have been both shocked and entertained by the recent events of the upper class socialites. The new queen, Lady Macbeth, was recently spotted at a dry cleaner shop demanding the removal of stains from her clothing. Witnesses say that she was very thorough and excessive in her demands for the cleanliness of the clothes. She could be heard giving orders and demands on the streets regarding the quality of the clothing. However, this attention to detail seems to have spurred a curious interest in fashionable headwear. Scotland’s elite can be found perusing the streets with similarly robed heads and oddly dyed clothing.

In other news, what looks to be Donalbain was discovered to board a flight set for Dublin, Ireland. Many of Scotland's inquisitive citizens question his motives in leaving so soon directly after the murder of his father. However, other citizens are equally convinced that summers are best spent in Ireland far away from the growing crime network overtaking Scotland.

The life of Macbeth

As many Scots are aware, the previous king, Macbeth, has died. Though his last days were not his best, he did serve an honorable life in the eyes of his country. Macbeth led his country to many victories and showed much bravery in protecting it. Had Macbeth not been so brave in trying to defend Scotland from the Norwegian invasion, the war would have been much harder and might have had a different ending, not as fortunate for Scotland. This quality of bravery was exhibited by Macbeth even until the end of his life when he died in battle trying to protect his role as king. Though there is much that he did to protect his country, some believe that he may have served a much worse role. Many believe that he played a part in the deaths of Duncan, Banquo, and other for his own personal gain. All in all, Macbeth led a life of bravery and devotion for his country.

Dear Abby, I am coming upon a problem with my husband involving his future. He has been promised great things, but at a cost, so he has come to me for guidance, when I myself am not sure what to do. While these new titles and positions are good, he may have to do some things that are not humane and are widely frowned upon. I am not sure myself if doing these drastic acts is worth the reward. So how should I consult my husband?

Dear consult my husband, I would say that it really depends on what the act is. I would never advocate doing something that has a negative effect on others, but at the same time sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to to make it to the top. Just follow your gut and you should be fine.
