         <description><![CDATA[<h1><strong>"Oedipus Rex"</strong></h1><div>[1.] Oedipus got his name after his father found out that Oedipus was destined to him. Oedipus’s parents bounded his feet together and sent him away. This left him with swollen feet, which in Greek is Oedipus.<br><br>[2.] The Delphic Oracle tells Oedipus that he will his father and marry his mother. In order to avoid this he moves to Thebes where he accidentally kills his father and marries his mother.<br><br>[3.] One of the major themes of the book is sight because the people that can actually see like Oedipus cannot really interpret what is happening but the blind Tiresias cant see everything for what it really is.<br><br></div><div>[4.] When Oedipus learns that his wife is his mother and he has killed his father</div><div>he rips his eyes out.</div><div>This goes along with the sight theme because right when</div><div>Oedipus could actually see thing for what they really are he took his vision</div><div>away.</div><div><br>[5.] When Oedipus learns that his wife is his mother and he has killed his father he rips his eyes out.</div><div>This goes along with the sight theme because right when Oedipus could actually see thing for what they really are he took his vision</div><div>away.</div><div><br><strong>"Antigone"</strong><br>[1.] An important play, written by Sophocles and a good example, for his modern techniques.<br><br>[2.] The theoretical essence of the play is the conflict between individual conscience and the power of the state.&nbsp;<br><br>[3.] The tragedy was written somewhere around 442 BC.&nbsp;<br><br>[4.] If you check out the chronological order of his Theban play, Antigone makes up the third part.<br><br>[5.]&nbsp; Antigone is both the daughter and the sister of Oedipus&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
