Prompt: To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most BANNED books of our time due in part to racist themes/language. Do you think it is necessary for the "n-word" to be included in the book? Why or why not? Explain your opinion.
Respond to the prompt using complete sentences. Then, respond to a minimum of three classmates posts (build off of what they said, ask a question, agree, disagree, or ask them to clarify, etc...).

I agree, although it is referred to be a terrible word to be used to describe a person. It helps the reader become aware of what kind of timeline Scout is living in. If people in her neighborhood is using this word, then it is proven that Scout is a racist environment. That discriminates against people of dark skin. As shown in the story, when people were calling Scout's father a rude name, that relates to the racism that has been happening around Maycomb

For starters I believe that the N-word shouldn't be in the book because kids like to repeat them selves and people hate when other are being racist to others. The n-word also means to be disrespectful and hateful. They believe that n-words have a "low value" and white skins have a high value. In conclusion I believe that the n-word shouldn't be in the book.

I really don't think that the "n" word should be used in the book. The first reason I wouldn't agree and think its unnecessary is because its really brutal and there's many synonyms that can be used. Also, because it sounds really disrespectful and racist.
