Deo’s ball is popped by the soldier and it deflates.  The middle of the ball sinks in but does not actually fold in on itself.

Everyone walks over to the soldiers to listen and dare not listen.  The Soldiers think that they can treat the people like animals.

The soldiers aren't ever going to give them food because stars can't fall from the sky.  This shows how the chances of ever getting food from soldiers are very low.
