         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hook: About ten million Africans were forced into ships to America, 40% died only along the way, and millions more were killed by horrific reasons.<br>Background information: Slavery started in America in about 1619 and ended in 1865;slaves were treated like property and we’re dorced to word until sunrise to sunset without any pay. Frederick Douglass was one of these slaves; he is famous for his book "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass", published in 1845. He taught himself how to read and write, and escaped to freedom in 1838.<br>Thesis statement: Along with the use of figurative language Douglass uses his story to reveal the effects of slavery on slaves and slaveowners, which supports his position to end slavery.</div>]]></description>
