1. Never approach a lit firework, even if you think it isn’t working. 
2. Keep a safe distance from firework displays and bonfires. 
3. Wear gloves when handling a sparkler, and hold it at arm’s length. 
4. Put used sparklers in a bucket of water once they go out. 
5. Keep pets and animals inside. 
6. Keep fireworks in a closed box; they should only be handled by adults. 
7. Build a bonfire away from sheds, trees and fences.
8. Check there are no cables above the bonfire.
9. Never use flammable liquids on a bonfire, as these can be dangerous.
10. Make sure you have a large bucket of water to hand, in case of an emergency.

Safeguarding means all the things we do to make sure you are kept safe from any harm.  

Safeguarding means that staff will:

• Make sure that nothing stops you being healthy or developing properly

• Make sure that you are looked after

• Make sure that you have the best life chances and can grow up happy and successful

We have a Safeguarding Team - these adults have a special job to help if something is worrying or upsetting you.

Remember though, ALL the adults in school are here to listen to you and help.
