My personality type according to the 16-Personalities Test was Entertainer , and I agree with the result because I enjoy being around people, making others laugh, and creating a fun and positive environment. I’m spontaneous and like trying new things, which matches the traits of an Entertainer. The description felt accurate and helped me understand myself better. This personality type can also help me become a person with and for others because I love making people feel happy and included. I’m friendly, outgoing, and I enjoy bringing good vibes to those around me. I can use my energy to lift others up, support them when they’re down, and make them feel seen and valued.

FOR MY FUTURE SELF

Dear Future Me,

I’m writing this during another late-night study session, surrounded by books and half-finished notes. I'm in Grade 12 right now and honestly, I'm exhausted. The workload is insane – assignments keep piling up, exams are around the corner, and I feel like I'm drowning in everything I need to do.

Some nights I wonder if I'm smart enough to get through this. My desk is covered with textbooks and my eyes hurt from staring at notes for hours. I've been surviving on coffee and determination, but there are moments when I feel like giving up.

But I'm not going to give up. I have dreams that keep me going.

I hope by the time you're reading this, I graduated with honors. I really want to make Mom and Dad proud – they've worked so hard to support my education and they believe in me even when I don't believe in myself. I want to see their faces light up when they hear my name called at graduation.

I hope you're studying the course you really wanted. Right now I have this clear vision of what I want to do, and I hope nobody talked you out of it. I hope you fought for what you wanted and didn't settle for something "safe" that would make you miserable.

Most importantly, I hope you're successful and happy. Not just successful with money or a fancy job, but truly happy with the life you're living. I hope you remember what it felt like to struggle through Grade 12 and how it made you stronger.

If you're reading this and things didn't go exactly as planned, that's okay too. What matters is that I tried my hardest right now, and I hope you're still trying your hardest wherever you are.

Don't forget where you came from. Don't forget the late nights, the stress, the moments when you wanted to quit but didn't. Remember that your younger self believed in you completely.

I'm going to keep pushing through these last months of high school. I'm going to study hard, do my best, and chase my dreams. I hope it was all worth it.

Love,
Your Grade 12 Self

In this activity, I was asked to reflect on my current stress level and identify the main stressors that affect me. I rated my stress on a scale from 1 to 10 and explained what contributes to it—things like school requirements, personal expectations, and sometimes even social pressures. I also looked into how stress affects me physically, mentally, and behaviorally. For example, I tend to overthink, get headaches, and sometimes isolate myself or procrastinate. The activity helped me become more aware of how I react to stress and what habits I’ve developed in response. I also listed coping strategies that work for me, and I reflected on which ones are helpful and which I might need to change. Overall, it was a meaningful way to check in with myself and think about how I can take better care of my mental and emotional well-being.

Stress has always been a part of my life, but I rarely take the time to really understand where it comes from or how it affects me. Doing this activity made me pause and reflect on what’s been weighing on me lately, whether it’s the pressure to meet deadlines, the fear of failing, or the overwhelming expectations I sometimes place on myself. I noticed that my reactions to stress aren’t always healthy, like isolating myself or losing motivation for the things I usually enjoy. Becoming aware of these patterns helped me realize that I need to be more intentional in how I cope. Some strategies I use, like listening to music or journaling, help me calm down, while others just add to the stress. This reflection reminded me that managing stress isn't just about surviving, it’s about learning how to take care of myself in a way that’s kind and sustainable.

Looking at my mind map, I realized that I learn best when I use a mix of strategies instead of just one. Organized note-taking helps me arrange my ideas clearly, use bullet points, and analyze the important details, which makes reviewing easier. Scheduling my study time also keeps me on track because following a daily timetable and planning breaks helps me stay consistent and avoid burnout. Mind mapping is another useful method for me because using colors, doodles, and arrows makes lessons more visual and memorable.

I also noticed that practice testing is really helpful since answering past papers, taking online quizzes, and checking my progress show me what I already know and what I need to work on more. Using real-life examples makes learning more meaningful because I can connect lessons to my own experiences and apply them in small tasks. Studying with friends also motivates me since we can quiz each other, explain topics, and share different techniques to remember lessons.

Overall, this mind map showed me that learning becomes easier and more effective when I combine different methods. It reminds me that I should balance my study habits and use what works best for me in every situation.

I often enjoyed being wrapped in soft blankets and hearing gentle voices around me, as these gave me a sense of comfort and safety. One of my favorite things to do was play outside, especially running and playing games with other kids. In the picture, I was on a running track, wearing my sports clothes and smiling happily. This shows how much I enjoyed physical activities, even at a young age.

During that time, I was beginning to understand who I was. Physically, I was very active and loved moving around. Emotionally, I was always excited to try new things and felt proud whenever I was praised or noticed. Socially, I started to enjoy making friends and being part of group activities, especially in school. I began to learn how to talk to others and share toys or play as a team.

1. Was the subject Personal Development helpful for you? How did this subject help you know yourself more?

Yes, Personal Development was very helpful because it guided me in understanding who I truly am. Through different activities and reflections, I became more aware of my emotions, strengths, and weaknesses. It helped me recognize the areas I need to improve on and taught me how to handle challenges better. This subject allowed me to grow in self-awareness and appreciate my journey of becoming a better version of myself.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?

One of my key takeaways is the importance of self-reflection in understanding my thoughts and emotions. I learned how managing stress and taking care of my mental health can improve both my attitude and performance. Another takeaway is realizing that personal growth takes patience and consistency. These lessons reminded me that knowing myself deeply is the first step toward success and happiness.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?

My two favorite topics were “Owning My Emotions” and “Mind Mapping.” “Owning My Emotions” helped me understand how to express my feelings in healthy ways and manage stress better. “Mind Mapping,” on the other hand, made learning more enjoyable and organized by helping me visualize my ideas clearly. Both topics taught me skills that I can apply not only in school but also in real-life situations.
