1. 3 1/4 + 2 2/4 = 5 3/4
3 and 2 are the whole numbers
and the denominators are the same which is 4. The answer would be 5 3/4. I got this because 3+2 = 5 and 3/4 because I got the one from the numerator and the 2 from the numerator as well which is equal to 3 and the denominator stays the same which is 4.
2. 5 3/4 - 2 1/10 = 8
change the subtraction to addition and the 2 would be negative so it well look like 5 3/4 + -2 1/4. The denominators are the same which means you can solve it easily. We just need to be careful with the negative numbers the answer would be 7 -4/4 which is a whole so it would be 8 so the answer is 8
3. 5 3/4 - 2 1/2 = 3 1/4
As you can see the denominators are different one is 4 and is 2 to be able to solve this problem do you need the same denominator in each fraction and also we need to change the subtraction sign to adding and make the two negative. The problem would be 5 3/4 + -2 1/2. The for is the greatest denominator so to be able to make the 204 you need to multiply 2 to the numerator and the denominator which would be 2/4 and now you can add everything with out a problem. 5+ -2 is equal to 3 and 3/4 plus -2/4 is equal to 1/4
