The them this year was stories/fairytales eg the princess and the pea, Cinderella, Jack and the bean stalk which I loved the idea however I I wasn't a fan on the actually windows as I found a couple quite boring and if you didn't spend time to read the sentences at the bottom the audience wouldn't have understood the concept being it.
However to bring the theme more to life customers could get involved by scanning the QR code at the bottom of the windows in order to find out more about them.

When I first arrived I wasn't impressed as I thought it looked very run down from the outside of the building.
The first thing I done was looked round the windows which once again I was disappointed by as they were were covered with hanging gold bits of paper which took up most of the window, which is not only boring but unsustainable, yet looking empty as there was never many products on display.
The products that were on show also just looked random as nothing seem to go well together eg one the mannequins had occasion/formal wear yet the rail next to it had jumpers and more casual winter wear/knitwear.
When I fist entered the building I noticed everything was so close and cramped together as well as thing being piled on top of each other making it almost look like a jumble sale.

What I partciualry loved was when I went down to the mens basement as it displayed a range of textures throughout the walls, floor and mannequins. For example the mannequins were a mix of copper, wood and and teal fabric.
To make this more into a leisure shopping experience there was a bar in the mens basement where you could take your time and grab a drink.

Just the building itself from a far looked impressive and elegant with the lights and architecture.
When looking round their windows they have two themes. The ones outside the from of the building were called "Kingdom of Christmas" with animals in each one , whereas the ones round the side by the tube station, were more for specific brands eg Dior and Chanel. (The branded windows moved eg in Dior had spinning thread whereas channels boxes opened and closed).

It was found in 1893 when Theophile Bader and his cousins Alphonse opened a small harberdashy shop named "Aux Galeries Lafayette" on the corner of Rue La Fayette. In no time this grew  into what we know now as Galeries Lafayette, which opened in 1912.
With its glass dome roof and rooftop terrace where you can admire the astonishing view of Paris it has become one of the must haves to do when visiting Paris.

The very first tree was in 1976 which was made from 400 square metres of aluminium with help from a company called  "the Avians Rene Cousinet".

"GO for GOOD". This story demonstrates their new line which has the aim of being sustainable by using organic cotton in a line of clothing and accessories such as bags. The story demonstrates a family of bears who need to move due to their home being threatened by the ice melting caused by climate change so in the windows it shows their journey to finding a new home. The story was directed by Luc Jacquet who was know for the documentary "The March of Penguins" in 2006 which won an Oscar.
