What is UDL?

A method of instruction that seeks to be inclusive by taking into account the needs of others. It also emphasizes removing obstacles and other influences that the student encounters during learning. Since each person is unique in their manner, it is crucial to adapt the framework to meet the demands of each individual. Equal opportunities and chances for all students might also be its goal, this strategy is meant for everyone, regardless of differences.

Why use UDL?

Since UDL attempts to give students an inclusive learning environment where the teacher matches their needs and abilities, it is an excellent framework that works in many types of educational environments. It is important to consider the various strategies that students can use to succeed academically.

What are the benefits of UDL?

The benefits of the Universal Design of Learning are that students gain from having their needs met and encountering fewer obstacles in their educational journeys thanks to the Universal Design of Learning. Additionally, it increases accessibility to learning, which is crucial in the field of education. Students are instructed in methods that facilitate their understanding of the subject matter and take into account their individual learning preferences.

What are the classroom uses of UDL?

Furthermore, there are other applications for the Universal Design of Learning. Giving students the option to select the assignments is one alternative. Giving students access to a variety of resources for assignments gives them the freedom to choose what suits their needs and talents best. Digital, audio, and posted lesson objectives are some other ways that Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can be implemented in the classroom.
What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)? - YouTube

www.youtube.com › watch

What is OER?

Open Educational Resources, or OER for short, are study, learning, and teaching materials that are freely available to the public and can be used at no cost by educators. This means that the resources being used are accessible to the public for free usage under an open license.

Why use OER?

Teachers can obtain resources for free thanks to Open Educational Resources. Additionally, people can collaborate to produce resources and materials that are accessible to everyone by using the instructional materials and resources. This implies that it might be applied to help and encourage students' learning. Students can also access information without any additional obstacles thanks to open educational resources and materials, particularly in higher education.

What are the benefits of OER?

OER has numerous advantages, including affordability, ease of use, and adaptability. In addition to having higher average grades and significantly lower withdrawal rates, students in educational environments that employ open educational resources also have reduced failure rates. Teachers can arrange the materials in a way that best suits the needs of the students and the classroom, creating a learning environment that supports each student's preferred learning style.

What are the classroom uses of OER?

One way that Open Educational Resources (OER) are being used in the classroom is by teachers substituting expensive textbooks for OER content. Lesson plans are another tool used in the classroom by teachers to better meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

Open Educational Resources - What's the Difference - YouTube

www.youtube.com › watch

UDL & OER

OER and UDL are two distinct ideas with some similarities. Two strategies can be used in the classroom to give students a more engaging and barrier-free learning experience. Both seek to offer students with varying needs and skills a classroom that is tailored to their preferred learning environment. These strategies also seek to enhance educational justice and inclusivity, remove obstacles, broaden access, and provide educators with a moral perspective. I will be implementing these strategies in my current role as a teacher assistant at an elementary school. Since educational students have a range of skills, it is ideal to consider these differences and modify lesson plans to meet the goals of individual education programs (IEPs). This is something I can do in the classroom. To ensure that every child may thrive academically, it is also important to give pupils access to resources such as digital and audio texts, close captioning, and instruction in many modalities. I can integrate UDL and OER in my future career as a child and adolescent mental health therapist by setting clear goals, deadlines, and standards that enable students to achieve stability and provide all students with the opportunity to provide stability and enable all kids to set objectives and make plans; for students experiencing emerging mental health issues. With OER I can be resourceful by seeking different modalities of therapeutic approaches to satisfy the needs of my clients.
