I practice soliloquies when I play video games. I use them when I am happy about winning or if I'm sad about losing. I say things such as, "Yes, I won!" or "Darn it, I lost." I use them to bring more emotion and enthusiasm to an already fun experience. It also allows me to be more expressive and focused in the game.

In the book "The Things They Carried", Tim O'Brien uses soliloquies by talking to the reader as he is narrating the story. It makes the reader hear two points of view in the story, the first or third person narration and his own comments about how he narrates the story. Along with diction, his use of soliloquies really makes the book stand out as unique. These methods capture the interest and attention of the reader and keep them in the book's grasp.
