Accesible poetry for all man.

The principal object proposed in these Poems was to choose incidents and situation from common life, and to relate or describe them, throughout, as far as was possible in a selection of language really used by men, and, at the same time, to throw over them a certain colouring of immagination whereby ordinary things should be presented to the mind in an unusual aspect and to make these events more interesting. Humble and rustic life was generally chosen because in that conditions of life our elementary feelings coexist in a state of greater simplicity and consequently, more forcibly communicated because in that condition the passions of men are incorporated with the beautiful and permanent forms of nature.

The language of these man has been adopted (purified indeed from what appear to be its real defects, from all lasting and rational causes of dislike or disgust) because such men hourly communicate with the best objects from which the best part of language is originally derived; and because, from their rank in society and the sameness and narrow circle of their intercourse, being less under the influence of social vanity, they

convey their feelings in simple and unelaborated expression.

Poet is a man speaking to men; he is endowed with a greater sensibility, tenderness and enthusiasm, he has a greater knowledge of human nature, and a more comprehensive soul. He helps other people to understand their own emotions. in fact, he uses a common language that is accessible to everyone.

The poet is also able to see beyond the reality, so he has the power of imagination. This aspect is present in the poem Daffodils in the expression "inward eye".

During the Romantic period, poetry became one of the most important form of literary expression.
The main characteristics of Romanticism are intensity and imagination. These themes recur in Romantic writings and include the tension between innocence and experience, man and nature, language and expression.
Romantic poets look back to Middle Ages, because in that period their heritage and cultural identity were born, for example their language.
Now even if we're in the age of rationalism, poets look back and use the Middle Ages as a powerful source for their works.
There's a relation between the Sublime and the Medieval. The Sublime implies a like of darkness and the Middle Ages are also called "Dark Ages", because they weren't illuminated by the light of rationalism.
Romantic poetry contrast with neoclassical poetry, which was the product of intellect and reason, while romantic poetry is more the product of emotion.
In the Preface of the Lirical Ballads, Wordsworth explain the meaning of "poetry". For him, poetry is a spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquillity.
As we can see, in this video, Roberto Benigni talks about poetry. One of the most important aspect which he underlines is that "la poesia non è fuori, ma dentro". He conferms the idea of Wordsworth that poetry is the ricollection of emotions.

The Romantic era was an artistic, literary, musical and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century.
It was partly a reaction to the industrial revolution and to the scientific rationalization of nature.
The movement was rooted in the German sturm und drang movement, which preferred emotions to the rationalism of the Enlightnment.
