In "Tu Foto," Ozuna acts as the speaker in the lyrics, and he sings about being heartbroken; however, in the video, the speaker is multiple people who are regretting their life decisions. Although he seems heartbroken, in reality, there was no actual breakup or occasion because when this song was released in 2017, he was in a long-term relationship with his current spouse, Tanya Melendez. The purpose of the lyrics is to tell the story of someone struggling to deal with the aftermath of a breakup. Meanwhile, the purpose of the music video is to make people realize that their addictions or bad decisions don't just affect them but their loved ones as well. The overall tone given in this song is distress, sadness, and regret.

First Appeal In Lyrics

Logos is the first appeal and is shown when he says, "Yo pensaba que tú solamente eras para mí." This is logos because he's literal about genuinely believing he would stay with his significant other forever. The second example of logos occurs when he says, "Un par de cartas a ver si contestas." It's logos because if you can't reach someone through calling or texting, then it's likely to start sending them letters instead. The third logos appeal happens when he says, "A veces me canso, pero sigo esperando," because it’s logical that he’s feeling tired of trying to reach her if she doesn’t talk to him no matter how much effort he puts into trying to get her to speak to him. This appeal is effective because these experiences can be relatable to the audience.

Pathos is the second appeal in the lyrics, and this occurs when he says, "Tengo tu foto pa' volverme loco," since he’s feeling like he’s going crazy because it hurts him to only be able to look at a picture of his ex that he really misses. Another example of pathos was "Tengo tu foto con el corazón roto," since he’s feeling heartbroken looking at the photo of his ex that he’s been holding onto, which is giving the lyric a feeling of distress and sadness. The last example of pathos is when he says, "Y sigo esperando respuesta, dime qué te cuesta." This lyric gives a feeling of hope being lost in reaching her, and you can tell how his tone is becoming slightly irritated but remains sad. This appeal is effective because of the feelings emitted through his tone and choice of words.

In "Tu Foto," Ozuna uses logos and pathos appeal to reach a specific part of his audience. In the lyrics, he is heartbroken and looking at the only thing he has left of his past lover. The lyrics reach out to an audience that has been through a breakup and can relate to a similar situation. In the music video, three people are grieving over the loss of their loved ones. The audience is people who have been through a similar situation or can prevent their loved one's death by not dragging them into their addictions or dangerous lifestyles. The overall purpose is to tell or show people how their bad decisions or dangerous lifestyles affect those around them. I believe that the purpose is effective due to the lyrics and music video consistently dragging his message throughout the lyrics and music video.
